Decorated Clip Board

I have been super busy getting my projects ready for county fair. Here is another project I have made for fair. I decorated this clipboard with scrapbook paper. I am so excited how it turned out. I really wanted to use black and white paper, but wasn't sure if it would be appealing. I love the outcome.

With the help of my mom I created this pocket to put some lined paper in for any time I need to make a note to myself. I also added a place for the pen to set into. I love the glitter on the paper!

I made a little address book to put my friends info in.

I made a place for a little note pad, for writing little notes. I love the paper clip that matches my paper. I added a flower at the top of the clip board with some ribbon and another clip that can hold anything I need. Love how it turned out. I'm getting excited for fair, I have five more days until I have to turn everything in. So I better get busy with my next item.

Summer Fun Birthday Party

For my birthday party we did water and summer activities. My mom had the idea to use beach balls for the invitations. I got the beach balls from the dollar store.

I blew them up and then wrote the information about the party on the beach ball and then delivered my cute invitations to my friends. They all loved it and made them really excited to come to my party.

We did some swimming activities and then had a water balloon fight. Made a fun yarn obstacle course by threading several different threads over under and everywhere and each person had to follow there piece of yarn where ever it went. At the end of the obstacle course were the party favors.

I put the silly string in so we could have a silly string fight - super fun with a bunch of screaming teen-age girls.

We had a spaghetti dinner and had a menu with summer words and each girl had to pick off the menu, but didn't know what they were getting. Some got noodles without sauce and some just got the sauce. These are some of the utensils they we used. Super fun, the girls thought it was fun. After a little bit we gave them a fork and everything to eat.

After dinner we watched a movie, ate popcorn and the candy in the party favors. It was a really fun birthday party.

The favorite thing of the whole party was the water weenies that I bought (could totally make these, but we ran out of time). I had one for each guest and they were able to take them home after we had a blast with them.

This is what the water weenie looks like before it is filled with water.
Filled with water. Don't you love my little brother's foot, he loved the water weenie too.

To make the water squirt, release the clamp and aim. See how easy it would be to make, it's an end to a pen, an IV clamp and a surgical tube.

Release the clamp and have a major water fight. We had so much fun with these.

Birthday Table Runner

I wanted to make a birthday table runner and wanted some kind of cake on it. I didn't use any kind of pattern for it, I designed it myself and designed the cupcake templates and used ric-rac for the frosting of the cupcakes. I went to the store and picked the fabric I wanted to use and came home and sewed my little heart out - I love how it turned out. This will be one of my projects I will be turning into the county fair in the 4-H division. I am in the process of making a pillow to match - I will post it as soon as it's done. I am thrilled that at the age of thirteen I am able to do something like this.

This is the back of the table runner.

Junior Critter Week, Post 3 - Embroidery

This Emboidery is for Spring. I started by tracing pattern onto muslin then I started Emboidering it. After I was finished I taped the muslin on a thin, square sheet of cardboard then placed in frame. This is another one I have made.

Junior Critter Week, Post 2 - Personalized, Accessorized Wood Letters

My mom, Caleen bought me these personalized wood letters to go in my room. I started by painting the wood letters, then traced the letters on scrapbook paper, cut the letters out, then I used mod podge to glue the paper to the the wood letters. After I let the paper dry to the wood I put accessories on the wood letters. Tada! On this letter I just added ribbon to the wood letter, and painted it purple.
On this letter I used different color buttons and white string to tie it together and painted it yellow. On this one I used different colored ribbon and painted it pink.
On this one I thought it was cute with the letters on the wood letter, and I painted it lime green.
On the letter "E" the paper had dots on it so I just added silver jewels to have a little bling, and I painted it white.
On the "Y" letter I just added different designs and colors of ribbon, and I painted it blue.

Junior Critter Week, Post 1 - Magnet Boards

This is Junior Critter Week - Junior critters are our older daughters and they will be the ones posting some of their favorite projects. I know our blog isn't very self explanatory, but during July all five of us sisters will be together to teach some of those that don't know how to blog and we will get an "about us" posted so that you can see who we all are and to learn a little bit about each of us and also who the Junior Critters are.
************************************************************************************

This is a magnet board that is bent metal and what it looks like and how it stands up. You can use this for a recipe holder, notes, or anything you wish to.
This is the front view of the magnet board to show the paper and the accessories.
These are magnets that I made just with small flower, brads, and magnets (sticky back kind.)
These are the flowers I have made for the magnet board.
This is a picture just showing the metal and how it was bent.
I saw this wood shelf at Roberts craft store and I thought how cute would it be to make it into a magnet board. So I decided to get it and match the paper and ribbon with my room.
This is just showing the sheet of metal that I used.
This is the wood shelf. I painted it white and covered the metal with paper, ribbon and inserted the metal into the frame.

Flowers, Flowers and more Flowers

When my sister Cameo and I were talking about starting a blog to share our creations with each other and other bloggers, we were trying to find a great name for the blog and my family thought it was fun to come up with names for our blog. We had some funny ones. When we decided on "Craft Critters, My daughter asked if she could be a critter and we told her she couldn't and then we jokingly said that she could be a "junior critter". We all laughed and thought it was funny, but now that we actually sort of have this blog going she wanted to post as a "junior critter", so as our daughters create we will have them post as a junior critter, which I think will be a fun thing to have on our blog. Here is Kelsey with her first post:

Here is how to make a flower clips to put in your hair. I figured out what color of flower I wanted.

Then I took my flowers and pulled them apart.

I figured out what order I wanted my flowers to be in.

Then I took my brad and put it threw all of the flowers, then I put the brad threw the bottom of the clip and folded the prongs of the brad over the clip.

Then I took tape and put it over the brad and the bottom of clip so that when you wear it, the brad won't poke your head and the clip won't move back and forth off the flower.

This is what the flower looks like from the back, you can see that the tape is covering the brad and is holding down the clip to the flower.
Here is the flower when it is all finished.

Here is a red and black flower that I made.

Here is a black, yellow and white flower that I also made.

Here is an all white flower I made.

This is a white and purple flower I made.

Here is a pink and white flower I made. This was one of the first flowers I made.

Here are all the flowers I have made so far.

Here is a different variety of flowers that I also made.
