Personalized Gifts Part Eleven - Tatted Names

Our mom made these for each one of her grandchildren and the last name for each of her children for Christmas. She has 21 grandchildren and 6 children, what a busy little beaver. I asked her if she would be offended if I repainted them to match my home decor. She said it was fine and that she made them in a neutral color, because all of our homes decor are different and expected changes. So I repainted them and added different background to match each one of the kids' rooms. I was originally going to keep them together and have them in a grouping, but that didn't work out the way that I wanted, so they are now in each of the kids' rooms. I love how they are personalized for each one of the kids and something that they will cherish from grandma for a long time.

This is one of the first gifts mom made for Christmas for all of the grandchildren, when they all saw their names on the blankets, mom new she got it right and has been doing the personalized gifts ever since. The kids love seeing their names on things, it makes it that much more meaningful.

Personalized Gifts Part Nine - Place Mats

Mom made these place mats for Christmas last year for all of the grand kids

Mom used the same pattern for all of the place mats, just did each family a different color.

Personalized Gifts Part Eight - Dish Towel Aprons

Mom made these aprons from a dish towel and then embroidered each kids name for each one of the grand kids. She just cut on each side of the dish towel to create the top of the dish towel and then sewed on bias tape. They are so cute and the kids love to use them.

Caitlynn's binder was the very first one my mom did, so hers is a little different than all the others, mom did paper piecing on all of the other binders. Caitlynn passed away a month before her fourth birthday, mom wasn't sure whether to give it to me or not, but she did and we used it at her funeral for guests to write their thoughts about Caitlynn, something that we will always cherish.Jaden loves dinosaurs, this was so perfect.

Braxton received a wish through Make-A-Wish and went to Disney World. This was perfect, plus I can't get this kid to stop writing. He loves to write - The perfect gift.

Mom made these pillow cases quite a few years ago for the kids for their birthday. Braxton got a fall pillow case since his birthday is in the fall. Kelsey got a red, white and blue pillow case since her birthday is during the summer.

Personalized Gifts Part One - Plates, Bowls and Mugs

We created (meaining me and my sisters) this blog to show our different crafts to each other and anyone else that would like to see. We are still in the proccess in getting everyone on board (learning/teaching how to blog). The five girls are :

Carolee - these next 12 posts will be her first. Carolee isn't much of a crafter, but she is a great cook so she will be posting some of her great recipes.
Meleese - has mad a few posts and is a sister-in-law, although she is like one of the sisters, Cherie - is a sister-in-law and hasn't done any posts yet, because she doesn't know how to blog, which she will soon be learning.
All of my family will be together for the next two weeks and we will get things going, but that means we won't have time to blog, so I thought I would show you our mom's creativity. Our mom makes our kids (her grandchildren) all of their gifts for Christmas and for their birthdays. She makes the extact its em for each of them, to make it fare for everyone . The next twelve posts will be the items she has made all of our children. I love the gifts she give to the kids. Having them made from Grandma makes it an even more specail gift, so much time and thought behind each gift and most of them she has personalized them by adding kids names to the item. They will be cherished for a long time. So to start our first post here are matching plates, bowls and cups mom made for each of the grandchildren. Because of the detail and cost of each she spread this out and gave one item for Christmas for three years. The kids absolutely LOVE them, they love having it personalized just for them.

Junior Critter Week, Post 2 - Personalized, Accessorized Wood Letters

My mom, Caleen bought me these personalized wood letters to go in my room. I started by painting the wood letters, then traced the letters on scrapbook paper, cut the letters out, then I used mod podge to glue the paper to the the wood letters. After I let the paper dry to the wood I put accessories on the wood letters. Tada! On this letter I just added ribbon to the wood letter, and painted it purple.

On this letter I used different color buttons and white string to tie it together and painted it yellow. On this one I used different colored ribbon and painted it pink.

On this one I thought it was cute with the letters on the wood letter, and I painted it lime green.

On the letter "E" the paper had dots on it so I just added silver jewels to have a little bling, and I painted it white.

On the "Y" letter I just added different designs and colors of ribbon, and I painted it blue.
